Los Angeles, CA -- The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) is urging potential victims to come forward as they investigate allegations against a doctor accused of using job recruitment websites to target women, drug them, and commit sexual assaults.
Dr. Babak Hajhosseini, 42, a physician and founder of Wound and Burn Centers of America, was arrested last month after a woman accused him of rape. His medical practice operates out of the Cedars-Sinai Medical Office Towers in Beverly Grove.
Investigators allege that Hajhosseini used online job platforms to offer high-paying positions and lure potential victims. Police say he would invite candidates to work overtime at his home, where the assaults allegedly occurred.
One accuser told police that Hajhosseini pressured her into consuming an alcoholic beverage, which rendered her unconscious. She alleges that he sexually assaulted and recorded her during the incident.
Hajhosseini was arrested on November 26, 2024, and later released on a $2 million bond. On December 21, he was formally charged with multiple counts, including drug-induced rape and rape of an unconscious person.
While charges have been filed based on the testimony of a single victim, the LAPD believes there may be additional victims who have not yet come forward. To assist the investigation, authorities have released a photo of Hajhosseini, hoping to encourage other survivors to speak up.
How to Report Information:
Anyone with information about Hajhosseini or who believes they may have been a victim is urged to contact the LAPD's Sexual Assault Unit at (213) 257-2050. Anonymous tips can also be submitted to LA Crime Stoppers at (800) 222-TIPS or via their website.
